FAQ — APK Download

Is the APK signed? Mirror builds are unsigned. The Play Store build is signed. Install from the Play Store whenever possible.

Does the APK include any other apps? No. The APK is a single player-app install only.

Is root required? No.

APK permissions

The Player11 reading app APK requests two permissions: push notifications (so the weekly captain read can reach you) and offline storage (so saved guides remain readable without network). No location, no contacts, no microphone, no camera, no advertising identifier.

APK and Google Play Protect

Google Play Protect sometimes flags APKs that are side-loaded as a precaution. The Player11 APK is unsigned mirror build — it is the same source tree as the Play Store build. If Play Protect flags the APK, you can confirm the install by tapping “Install anyway” in the prompt. If you prefer the verified build, install from the Play Store.

Rollback and uninstall

The Player11 reading app can be uninstalled like any other Android app. Tap Settings → Apps → Player11 Reading → Uninstall. The uninstall removes the app and clears the app's local storage. Reading-list preferences are not synced to the cloud — uninstalling the app removes them locally.

If a reader wants to roll back to a previous version of the APK, side-load the older APK on top of the current install. The app preserves the saved reading list across the rollback. Player11 does not maintain a public APK archive — older builds are not downloadable from the desk.

Rebuilds and rollouts

The Player11 reading app is rebuilt weekly during the IPL window and monthly during the off-season. Rebuilds add captain-matrix data, salary cap updates, and bug fixes. The APK mirrors the Play Store build. The version on the side panel tracks the build number; the date stamp tracks the release date.

Rollouts happen automatically on the Play Store. APK rollouts are manual — tap the APK link in the desk to receive the latest version.
